- Suchitra Komandur — Zentangle Classes
-
Suchitra is a Certified Zentangle teacher and has been teaching the Zentangle method and Zentangle inspired since May 2021. An engineer by profession, Suchitra discovered her childhood passion for art during the intial days of the pandemic in 2020. She soon discovered the Zentangle method and was surprised by how easy it was to practice with just minimal tools and time. She was also impressed with the wonderful benefits of Zentangle in reducing stress, anxiety and improving sleep. She soon certified herself to be a teacher so that she could spread the benefits to everyone around her. The Zentangle method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful art by using structured patterns. There are “no mistakes” in Zentangle and if you can write your name, then you can draw! Suchitra is also well versed with various Indian folk art forms and loves to combine them with the Zentangle method to produce unique Zentangle inspired art ( ZIA ). You can follow her on Instagram @suchitrakomandur and view some of her work. Phone – +1 971440550 Email – Suchitra.k@gmail.com
- David Weber — Adult Oil Painting Classes indigodavew@gmail.com
- I am currently working out of my studio in Hillsboro, OR. It is set up for ceramics, watercolors, pastels and oils, which I use my palette knife for painting. I’m very passionate about the outdoors and traveling which is the inspiration of my work. I like being involved with people and have been in numerous groups and organizations. My favorite accomplishment was co-producing art shows in Colorado.

- Teal Buehler — Collage Art Classes teal_buehler@yahoo.com
- I started creating at a young age and pursued art in college. I found I was attracted to creating texture and applied this in painting, collage, and ceramics. I also enjoyed using complimentary bright colors. Making art feels instinctual and gives me immense satisfaction. I create an image that becomes a captivating painting, drawing, or collage. My images can have a dreamy feel. I want the viewer and myself to wonder about the moment, time, circumstances and setting. I treasure nature and animals, which have been incorporated into most of my pieces. I am always challenging myself by experimenting with new methods and styles. In the past few years my work has evolved, using the concepts and techniques I enjoy most in collages and animal portraits. Each piece is a complex puzzle. I feel overcome and think can I do this? Yes! I enjoy the challenge of putting the pieces together to make a final image that is unique, whole, and satisfying to the viewer’s eye. I start with a sketch, followed by paint. The feeling of paint sliding across the surface is calming. I enrich the texture, shadows, and sunlight. Complementary colors are used as an enhancer and many thin layers of paint are used for texture and a dreamy feel. When I have mastered the puzzle, I am happy and feel satisfied.

Art is my medicine, my path, and my offering to the world.
The opportunity to teach has added an enriching dimension to my practice. Guiding others to discover their creativity is one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey as an artist. It deepens my purpose and reinforces my belief in art as a tool for healing, connection, and transformation.

- Janet Hickok — Acrylic/Mixed Media, Encaustics, Cold Wax Medium, Gelatin Printing, Eco Dyeing /jchchef77@gmail.com
-
My career as an artist has developed through an exploration into a variety of mediums – primarily encaustic, cold wax, acrylic and mixed-media. My works are semi-abstract representations that are process-driven, featuring color, line, marks, textures and patterns that are suggestive rather than highly descriptive.
-
My medium choices all have additive and subtractive qualities that emphasize building up and scrapping back; an excavation of sorts which mirrors my love for things with a distinct history. Layers of paint, eroding walls, weathered faces, wizened hands, worn veneers . . . all depicting the passage of time. Everything exists with its own collection of scratches, scrapes, dents, scars, wrinkles and blemishes; clear reminders of what passed before. And, yes, I love to share and teach my process to others.
