Donna Clark

As a native Oregonian, Donna Clark paints Northwest landscapes as a means to celebrate the joy, beauty and magic of nature, specifically that in the Northwest. Her oil paintings are rich with sensuous colors, expressed often with palette knife in an impressionist style. And “en plein air” (painting on location) is her favorite way to capture the “real essence” of her subject matter. Living in rural Washington County also affords many opportunities to paint the light, texture, moods, and rich rural farming heritage that is uniquely Oregon. After 35 years of exploring Oregon’s “back country”, she wants her paintings to offer a visual experience that feeds our connection with the world in which we live.

Donna began painting in 1974, pursuing art instruction from a number of teachers. Awards include a 2006 Rose Festival 1 Place and Peoples’ Choice Awards, inclusion in the “Allison Collection”, the City of Beaverton’s Collection, and showing in a number of juried shows throughout the local area. In addition to her representation at the Valley Art Gallery, she is a member of The Oregon Society of the Arts, Beaverton Arts Commission, Hillsboro Community Arts, and Silverton Arts Associations.

Donna Clark finds inspiration in other pursuits as well. She is an avid gardener, cook, retired practitioner of the healing arts, traveler, and dancer.
